Booking Your Maternity + Newborn Sessions

Session Deposit

A booking deposit of $300 is required to reserve your date on my calendar. This deposit will be applied toward the image collection you purchase after your gallery preview is delivered. When booking a maternity and newborn session together – the $300 deposit is waived for the second session!

Location

All of my newborn sessions take place in your home. If the weather is nice I typically suggest a few outdoor photos at your home or near by as well. Maternity sessions take place outdoors in the Portland area. I have a list of my favorite locations if you’re not sure where you’d like to meet up!

Recieve Your Gallery!

In 7-10 days you’ll receive a link to your full gallery. Here you can view all of your images before choosing between one of 3 image collections. After you choose a collection you will have access to the gallery shop where you can use your credit to order prints and albums.

A newborn session tips

Make sure everyone is full + rested

Make sure eveyone has had something to eat before the session. Hangry-ness is real! If possible, its a good idea to plan the session around nap time as well.

Prepare your kids

I like parents to tell younger kids that you are meeting up with a friend who is going to take photos of everyone playing together. I always keep my camera in my bag for the first few minutes while we walk to our first photo spot, talk to each other a bit, and show kids that I am a friend first and a photographer second. When the camera comes out, they are already feeling more comfortable with me and tend to be more willing to have their picture taken.

Keep Expectations REalistic

Kids will be kids! My candid style works well with kids who aren’t particularly fond of forced smiles and intricate posing. No one wants to sit still and smile for a long time and it’s best to let kids play. I love capturing spontaneous moments that show your family’s personality. Laugh along with them and embrace some silliness.

Be Present

Focus on having fun together as a family during the session. I will make sure to capture unique and beautiful photos for you. Enjoy, cuddle, and have fun with each other. The more present you are in the moment – the better the images will be!

Frequently Asked Questions

I am more than happy to help you choose outfits. I have a Family Session Style Guide that should point you in the right direction. And of course you can always text me photos of your outfits and ask for my advice!
