I love when I get the chance to shoot an intimate wedding at a cozy Airbnb. Airbnb rentals are just like your home sweet home… but better! When it comes to choosing a wedding venue an Airbnb might be the last choice you would consider, but let me tell ya why they are my favorite places to shoot.

Airbnb weddings have boomed in popularity over the past few years. Especially in 2020 when large gatherings where restricted and many traditional wedding venues were forced to postpone their bookings.

While it can be wonderful to book a wedding venue that provides everything you could need all in one place, Airbnbs give you a chance to put your own creativity into your wedding day. Plus, Oregon Airbnb wedding venues are typically MUCH cheaper than the traditional wedding venue.

Can you rent an Airbnb for a wedding?

I know it may be untraditional and hard to believe, but YES, you can get married at an Airbnb. Of course there are a few factors to consider before you begin searching for the perfect Oregon Airbnb wedding venues.

First, you need to know how many guests you plan to invite to your wedding or elopement. Most Airbnb weddings will be best for smaller weddings. Think dinner party meets elopement!

My advice is to speak with the host BEFORE booking any Airbnb for your wedding. Make sure you ask permission no matter how small the event may be.

What Questions Should I Ask An Airbnb Host About Having A Wedding?

  1. Always ask permission! Never assume that it’s okay just because your elopement or wedding is small. Some hosts have strict photography and event policies and may charge an extra fee or say no all together.
  2. Are there any noise ordinaces in the area? Be sure that you are not blasting music late into the night when you’re not supposed to. Make sure to ask the host if there are extra steps you should take to respect any neighbors.
  3. Ask if you can visit the property before booking. Typically hosts do not arrange “previews” of the home but in the case of a wedding they may be willing to make an exception.
