Frequently Asked Questions

I recommend scheduling a session sometime between 3 weeks and 2 months. This is typically a great timeframe because you’ve settled into your routine and everyone is feeling a bit more relaxed.

I like planning newborn sessions in your home because it is such a unique setting to you and your family. It’s also usually the easiest option for new parents. If you’re interested in having photos done outdoors as well, it can be nice to take a walk around your neighborhood or get a few photos at a nearby park! If you have your heart set on a particular outdoor location, then I am more than happy to meet you anywhere in the Portland area!

When photographing indoors I like to utilize as much natural light as possible and Light colored clothing always does a great job at reflecting that soft natural light. Neutrals and earthy tones are always a great option. You can read more about what to wear in my family session style guide.

Great! Babies are always adorable! You don’t always have to do a session within the first few weeks, and oftentimes it’s just not possible for new parents. Whenever you’re ready – let’s capture those sweet baby photos!
