In September I spent a few days in New England for Val and Lance’s wedding. Although I was 3000 miles away from home, Maine felt a lot like Oregon. Sure, the buildings are centuries older and the shores a bit rockier, but driving through the backroads of the forested countryside felt familiar in some ways.
Val and Lance had their wedding on a historic apple farm, Shady Lane Farm, outside of Portland, Maine. I loved walking through the main house with its whitewashed floors and antique fixtures. There is something about these charming historic properties that you don’t find often on the west coast.
The barn was decorated with tons of elaborate florals. Every table was stacked with greenery and lovely bursts of colorful floral arrangements designed by Bad Rabbit Flowers.
I had a lot of fun photographing this one. Hopefully I’ll visit Maine again soon with more time to explore this beautiful part of the world!
