Hidden in the woods off of HWY 47 is a cozy retreat with yurts and cabins and lots of space to roam. Vernonia Springs is a newer wedding venue, but it’s quickly become one of my favorites. It’s only a 5-minute drive from the town of Vernonia, which is quickly becoming a little enclave of good restaurants and dusty antique stores.
This place was the perfect spot for Maura and Aaron’s wedding. Some guests stayed in the yurts and cabins while other pitched their tents along the edges of the property. Most guests arrived by the Cascadia Cruiser. It’s like a big rainbow bus that you can rent to shuttle guests to the more rural areas surrounding Portland.
After everyone had a few beers from their custom “Maura & Aaron” beer koozies, The party really started and the Gabe Schliffer bluegrass band took the stage. I love a live band and these guys did not disappoint. By the end of the night, everyone was dancing under the stars.
